Control stem rot disease on dragon fruit plant in hot season

1. Disease agent:

Many harmful fungus such as Fusarium sp, Bipolaris sp, Alternaria sp.

2. Symptoms:

• Firstly, the stem becomes yellow, after that brown blisters appear, spreading fast, rotten stem. The disease involves strongly on the top branch portion, specially on the branches heading West, where the sun becomes hot in the afternoon.
• The disease stains after days become dry and rotten, only the wooden core remains, decreasing the photosynthesis and growing new branch ability, affecting the fruit yield next season.

3. Prevention:

• Supply enough water, keep the moisture for the plants, avoid watering in the noon.
• Keep balanced nutrition, reduce the nitrogenous fertilizer, increasing Potassium, Calcium, Magnesium, Silic, Zinc.
• When a body or branch becomes rotten, you need to clean up the body and branches, cut out the rotten portion and use the pesticide Map Hero 340WP.
