“Black spots” disease or farmers often call “Fruit spots” disease – greatly affects the yield and quality of strawberries.
According to some judgment that “Black spots” disease can affect to 80% yield, especially on heavy rain period at Dalat.
Black spot disease is caused by the fungus Colletotrichum acutatum. The disease is usually harmful on both green and ripe fruit, or on fruit stalks and leaves. On fruits, lesions usually have round spots, slightly sunken black color. The disease thrives when the weather has high temperature and humidity and is strongly spread by wind or through droplets when it rains. In addition, strawberry “black spot” disease can also be spread during transport.
To limit the harmful effects of black spot disease, farmers should detect it early and spray with pesticide Map Rota 50WP.
