Mango Shoot Borer Management

1. Harm of mango shoot borer:

  • The mango shoot borer attacks on young shoots, causing shoot death, difficulty in flowering, and slowing down the crop.
  • The larvae of the top borer lay eggs on young shoots; Newly hatched caterpillars bore into the young bud, the young leaves dry the leaves, dry the buds.

2. Preventive measure:

To limit the harmful effects of the mango shoot borer, when the tree has just sprouted young buds, farmer should spray Taron 50EC (active ingredient Chlorpyrifos methyl) to prevent pests.

  • Eliminates the pest by 4 mechanisms: Dermal entry, Oral entry, deeply absorb and Strong Respiratory.
  • Broad spectrum of effects.
  • Dosage: 160 ml/200 liters of water..

Note:

To increase absorption quickly and spread evenly on the leaf surface as well as increase the effectiveness of insecticides, farmers combine Taron 50EC with Map Green 6SL (100ml/200 liters) to make the use of the drug more effective, especially in the rainy season.
