Powdery mildew on roses

Powdery mildew is a common disease in the rainy season for rose plants. Caused by fungus Sphaerotheca paranosa var. The disease is spread by wind and water when conditions are warm and humidity is high.

The disease usually affects young buds, young leaves and both leaf surfaces. If the disease is severe, it can attack the stem and flower stalk. The ability of the disease to recur quickly, causing slow growth and few buds.

Management measures:

Clean up and dispose of fallen leaves and debris surrounding plants.
Provide plants with adequate nutrients and water to maintain their immune defenses
Use fungicides as a preventive measure during optimal growth conditions.
